Each part of the country has been divideded into sections for the purpose of qualiying players from there respective Pubs/Clubs and we have taken on plenty of venues to fill the seats available to ourselves . If it is a new Venue or an existing venue we will help set up the game and advertise each venue on both our Sms Data Base and our Website .

Along with our sold-out side games, approx 1,000 players participated in the amateur event with over 806 players represented in the main tournament.

Over the last 16 weeks, more than 7,000 unique amateur players, from all over Ireland, battled for the guaranteed €65,000 prize pool.

Since winning the Irish Poker in the Pub title, what are your feelings about luck in the game?

There is a certain amount of luck involved but you have to have the nerve to play the cards you are given & the conviction to follow through with the bets you make.

Before reaching the final table, was there any moment where you felt you could win the tournament?

On the Sunday morning when I found out how far ahead I was in chips I was confident but there was still a lot of poker to be played & decided to take it hand by hand.

When Gerard announced he was moving ‘all in’ on the last hand, what was your immediate feeling? Did you feel you were ahead and call instantly? Or did you take a moment to think about it?

I felt I was ahead with Ace King & was happy to make the call immediately

What is your favourite hand in Texas hold ‘em, and why?

Ace King after Sunday for obvious reasons!

You said you play online several nights a week. In what way does playing poker online improve your live game?

Practice, practice & practice.

You chose the entry into 7 of thisyears’ major events rather than a seat at the WSOP. Why did you choose not to battle it out in the US?

Because I felt that the experience I would gain over 7 tournaments would stand to me. As this was my first tournament I need the experience before entering a tournament as large as the WSOP

Do you see poker as a career for yourself? If so, why?

I would love to but will wait to answer this until after the next few tournaments.
